ABSTRACT

Background: Appendicitis is a digestive disease that usually causes abdominal pain and requires
surgery, namely an appendectomy. Post-appendectomy patients will usually feel pain. Pain can be
reduced if there is distraction and non-pharmacological measures that can be used for distraction
therapy, one of which is murottal al-Qur'an therapy. Objective: to analyze the application of murottal
al-Qur'an therapy to reduce pain in post-appendectomy patients at X Bekasi Private Hospital. Method:
The design of this research used a case study conducted on 2 respondents with the main nursing
diagnosis of pain. Results: Giving murottal Al-Qur'an can reduce the pain scale of post-appendectomy
patients from a moderate scale to a mild scale. Conclusion: Al-Qur'an murottal therapy can help reduce
pain in post-appendectomy patients. Al-Qur'an murottal therapy can be applied as an alternative
measure to reduce pain following an appendectomy.
