ABSTRACT

Introduction: Sectio caesarea is a surgical delivery process with an incision in the mother's stomach
(laparotomy) and uterus (hysterotomy) with the aim of removing the fetus or baby. Wounds from
caesarean section incisions can cause discomfort to the mother, one of which is pain. Pain

management can be done using pharmacological and non-pharmacological therapy, one of the non-
pharmacological therapies is warm compresses and lavender aromatherapy. Warm compresses and

lavender aromatherapy can be effective in reducing the pain scale in patients after cesarean section.
Method: The applications used were warm compresses and lavender aromatherapy, the instruments
used were pre and post observation sheets, Numeric Ratting Scale (NRS) pain measurement sheets.
Respondents were 2 post-SC patients, carried out for two days, administration duration 20 minutes.
Results: The results of the intervention were found in both patients, there was a decrease in the pain
scale for both patients, the first respondent found it was from a pain scale of 5 down to a scale of 1,
while for the second respondent from a pain scale of 5 it went down to 2. Conclusion: Warm
compresses and lavender aromatherapy were effective in reducing Pain scale in post caesarean
section mothers.
