PENERAPAN RANGE OF MOTION (ROM) TERHADAP PENINGKATAN RENTANG GERAK SENDI DAN KEKUATAN OTOT PADA PASIEN STROKE DI RS X KOTA BEKASI

ABSTRACT

Background: Stroke is a vascularization disorder of the cerebral blood vessels that can result in
disability and even death, ranking third after heart disease and cancer. As a result of stroke, people
can become disabled and lose the ability to live independently, significantly affecting ADL, quality
of life and negatively impacting physical, psychological and social health. Another preventive
intervention that can be given is by providing Range Of Motion (ROM) therapy. Purpose: The
intervention of providing Range Of Motion (ROM) can increase the range of motion of the joints
and muscle strength of the patient. Methods: The method in the results of this scientific work is a
case study conducted on 2 adult patients aged 40-59 years with an assessment of muscle strength
measurements. Results: Evaluation of case studies in 2 patients is an increase in muscle strength
for 3 days given Range Of Motion (ROM) therapy intervention. Conclusion: The provision of
Range Of Motion (ROM) is effective in increasing muscle strength in stroke patients who
experience physical mobility disorders characterized by muscle weakness.
