ABSTRACT

Introduction: hypertension is considered to have high blood pressure when their blood pressure exceeds
normal, which is higher than 140/90 mmHg. there are also non-pharmacological treatments, such as
complementary therapy Swedish Massage Theraphy. Massage therapy involves manipulating soft tissues
and muscles in the hands or feet with the aim of increasing blood flow, stimulating parasympathetic
activation, and increasing the release of endorphin hormones. Objective: To analyze the application of
Swedish Massage Therapy to reduce high blood pressure in hypertensive patients at Cibubur Hospital.
Methods: This scientific paper uses a case study of administering intervention to patients who are
undergoing treatment in hospitals diagnosed with hypertension for 3 days for 10 minutes. Results: There
was a decrease in blood pressure after being given Swedish Massage therapy using oil to patients with
hypertension. Conclusion: there is an effect of Swedish Massage therapy on hypertensive patients in
lowering blood pressure
