IDENTIFIKASI Soil-Transmitted Helminth (STH) PADA LALAT (Musca domestica dan Chrysomya megacephala) DI TEMPAT PEMBUANGAN SAMPAH TERPADU (TPST) BANTAR GEBANG BEKASI

ABSTRACT

The prevalence of worms in West Java Province has reached 90.5% in the last 5 years, but there has been no mention of Soil Transmitted-Helminth (STH) worms at the Integrated Waste Disposal Site (TPST) of Bantar Gebang Bekasi, especially in Cikiwul Village. Flies are mechanical vectors
of various microorganisms including STH parasites so they can cause worms. Therefore, it is
necessary to conduct an STH parasite examination on flies at the Bantar Gebang Bekasi TPST, RT 004/RW 004, Cikiwul Village. This study aims to determine the type, quantity and index of fly
density as well as the presence and type of parasites found in flies at TPST Bantar Gebang Bekasi, RT 004/RW 004, Cikiwul Village. The type of research conducted was descriptive-comparative
with a cross-sectional design. The sample in this study consisted of 510 flies collected from 11
different locations. The methods used were sedimentation, flotation, and concentration.
Descriptive and comparative test analysis was performed using the Kruskal-Wallis Test. Two
species of flies were found: 176 Musca domestica and 334 Chrysomya megacephala. The fly
density index was categorized as high to very high, with an interval of 16-69.3. Ascaris
lumbricoides eggs and hookworm larvae were found in the fly samples. Specifically, for the
Kruskal-Wallis Test analysis, the results were sig. 0.440 or sig. > 0.05. Musca domestica and
Chrysomya megacephala flies were found. The parasites found were Ascaris lumbricoides eggs and Hookworm larvae. The Kruskal-Wallis Test analysis result of sig. 0.440 indicated no
significant difference in the fly density index across the 11 collection points at TPST Bantar
Gebang Bekasi.
