ABSTRACT

Introduction: Compliance is a problem often experienced by hemodialysis patients which can impact
various aspects of patient care, including medications, treatment regimens, and food and fluid
restrictions. Compliance is required in the hemodialysis management process to achieve a better quality
of life.
Objective: to analyze the relationship between compliance with fluid restrictions and the quality of life
of chronic kidney failure patients undergoing hemodialysis at Private Hospital X in the city of Depok.
Method: This research uses a quantitative method of correlation analysis with a cross sectional
approach. The total population in this study was 30 respondents with chronic kidney failure who
underwent hemodialysis therapy at Private Hospital The research instrument used the KDQOL-SF
questionnaire and fluid restriction compliance questionnaire. Data collection techniques use primary
data obtained through direct research using questionnaire sheets. The data analysis technique used the
Spearman rho statistical test.
Research Results: Showed that the highest compliance with fluid restrictions was in the moderately
compliant category, 28 respondents (93.3%) and the highest quality of life category was good, 17
respondents (56.6%). After the results of the Spearman rho statistical test, the p-value was obtained:
0.093 > ɑ 0.05, which means that there is no significant relationship between compliance with fluid
restrictions and the quality of life of kidney failure patients at the X private hospital in Depok city.
Conclusion: There is no relationship between compliance with fluid restrictions and the quality of life
of kidney failure patients undergoing hemodialysis at Private X Hospital in Depok City.
