ABSTRACT

Hospitalization is an experience that can cause stres in children and can cause
trauma in children, such as the emergence of feelings of anxiety, anger, pain due
to invasive procedures, and others. The level of knowledge of nurses about
atraumatic care is one of the faktors that influences the provision of nursing care
to prevent trauma, physical and psychological stres in children. The aim of this
study was to analyze the relationship between nurses' level of knowledge about
hospitalization and atraumatic care behavior for pediatric patients in the
inpatient room. Descriptive research, correlation study with a cross sectional
approach. The total sample was 38 respondents with a total sampling technique.
The research instrument uses a questionnaire on atraumatic care knowledge and
behavior which has been tested for validity and reliability. The test used is the
chi-square test. The research results showed that 29 (76.3%) respondents had
good knowledge and 25 (65.8%) respondents had good atraumatic care behavior.
There is a relationship between the level of nurses' knowledge about
hospitalization and atraumatic care behavior in pediatric patients in the Inpatient
Room at Private Hospital X in Bekasi City with a p value of 0.003. With this
