PENGARUH EDUKASI SEBAYA TERHADAP PERILAKU PENCEGAHAN ANEMIA PADA REMAJA PUTRI DI SMKN 15 KOTA BEKASI

ABSTRACT

Introduction: The prevalence of anemia reaches around 48.9% in Indonesia. However, in Bekasi
City, the proportion of adolescent anemia is around 26.4%. In 2021, the coverage of Bekasi city
getting blood supplement tablets (TTD) is 25.2% and is still below the target of 52%. Efforts to
prevent anemia in teenagers require peer education to find out anemia prevention behavior in
providing education to young women's peers so that they can be more open and confident in
conveying feelings and thoughts to young women. This research is to analyze the effect of peer
education on anemia prevention behavior in adolescent girls at SMKN 15, Bekasi city.
Method: This research used a quasi-experimental design with a one group pre-test post-test design
carried out at SMKN 15 in Bekasi city during November 2023 to July 2024. The number of
respondents was 40 samples taken using stratified random sampling. This research has passed the
ethics of KEPK/UMP/45/III/2024. The analysis used in the research is the hypothesis test of the
average difference between two paired groups and the Wilcoxon signed rank test.
Result: The attitude p-value is 0.058, so it can be concluded that there is no increase in respondents'
attitudes between before and after participating in peer education. The skill p-value is 0.200, so it
can be concluded that there was no increase in respondents' skills between before and after
participating in peer education.
Conclusion: This research shows that there is an increase in respondents' knowledge between
before and after participating in peer education. There are 3 variables studied. Peer education for
peers to be more open in conveying feelings and thoughts to their peers.
