ABSTRACK

Background : Anxiety is a psychological disorder related to the mental condition
of a person who experiences feelings of worry and fear regarding possibilities or
uncertainty. In the context of pregnancy, anxiety is a psychological disorder with a
high risk in pregnant women in the third trimester. In an effort to reduce anxiety
levels in third trimester pregnant women, it is necessary to provide peer group
intervention to reduce anxiety levels by sharing experiences with peers and
supporting each other. Objective : This study aims to find out whether there is a
difference before and after the peer group in the level of anxiety facing childbirth
in third trimester pregnant women at the Duren Jaya Community Health Center,
Bekasi City. Method : This research design was pre-experimental with one group
pretest-posttest design carried out at the Duren Jaya Community Health Center,
Bekasi City for the period 2024. The research was conducted over 3 sessions within
1 week with a duration of 45 minutes per meeting and the sample in this study was
36 respondents taken. with purposive sampling. Results: The results of research
using statistical tests using the Paired t-test show that the p-value = 0.001 < α =
0.05, it is known that there is a difference in the level of anxiety before and after the
peer group is carried out regarding the level of anxiety facing childbirth in pregnant
women in the third trimester in Duren Jaya Health Center, Bekasi City. Conclusion
: This peer group tends to reduce the level of anxiety in third trimester pregnant
women facing childbirth at the Duren Jaya Health Center, Bekasi City.
