ABSTRACT

Background: Hypertension is a condition where blood pressure in humans is more than 120/80
mmHg. Hypertension is one of the diseases that is classified as dangerous, to the point of being
nicknamed the silent killer disease. Hypertension is called the silent killer because this disease can
occur without any signs and symptoms. The number of adults aged 30-79 years who experience
hypertension worldwide has reached 1.28 billion. Two-thirds come from middle- and low-income
countries.
Purpose: To analyze the relationship between family emotional support and compliance with
hypertension treatment control at the Karang Kitri Community Health Center, Bekasi City.
Method: the method used is a quantitative method with a cross-sectional design. Sampling was
calculated using the lameshow formula with a total of 191 respondents using the purposive sampling
technique. The data collection instrument used a questionnaire measuring instrument for Family
Emotional Support and Treatment Control Compliance and the analysis used was the Chi-Square
test. This study was conducted at the Karang Kitri Health Center starting from June 5-14, 2024.
Results: the results of the study showed that the majority had good family emotional support, as
many as 108 respondents (56.5%) who were mostly female, aged
