PENGARUH EDUKASI TERSTRUKTUR PADA PELAKU RAWAT TERHADAP KEPATUHAN DIIT PASIEN DM TIPE 2 DI RS SWASTA BEKASI

ABSTRACT

Introduction: Diabetes mellitus is currently a global health threat, this disease is caused by reduced
insulin response. However, as time goes by, insulin production decreases and it is called type 2
diabetes mellitus. The management of type 2 DM itself consists of 4 pillars, namely dietary
education, exercise (physical and physical) and pharmacological intervention. Objective: To
determine the influence of structured education among caregivers on type 2 DM diet compliance at
Bekasi Private Hospital. Method: This research design uses a one group quasi-experimental
approach with pre and post. Pre-experimental design and One group pre-post design on June 16
2024. The sample of this study was 29 people treating type 2 DM patients at Hospital X, the
intervention was given for 2 weeks with 2 sessions. The research instrument uses a questionnaire
adopted by Anindita (2017). Data analysis used the Sahpiro-Wilk normality test and continued with
the Wilcoxon test. Results: Bivariate analysis showed that there was an increase in the level of diet
compliance among caregivers by 29 respondents, and a decrease in the level of diet compliance
after education by 1 respondent and 1 respondent with a moderate level of diet adherence. So it can
be concluded that diet compliance before and after structured education for caregivers has an effect
with a p-value of 0.000. Conclusion: There is an influence on diet compliance before and after being
given a structured educational intervention.
