ABSTRACT

Introduction: This research aims to determine the effect of kinetic sand media on children's fine
motor development in the Wanajaya area. Kinetic sand, which can be called magic sand, is a mixture
of sand with synthetic materials which creates softer textured sand. Using kinetic sand media can
improve the ability of small muscles in children such as the skills of children's fingers, clenching,
grasping, pressing, and squeezing. Method: This research uses a quantitative method in the form of
a Quasi Experiment. The population of this study were all students at Al-Fida Kindergarten and
Qur’an Learning Center owned by Mrs. Dewi Maryam. The data was processed using the Wilcoxon
test using the IBM SPSS Statistics Data Editor application. Results: The results of this study
obtained a P value = 0.0001. Because the hypothesis test for this research is 1-tailed, so the P value
= 0.0001/2 = P = 0.0005, then H0 is rejected Conclusion: there is an influence of Kinetic Sand
playing activities on improving fine motor skills between the pre-test and post-test.
