ABSTRACT

Introduction: Adolescents at the age of 10 - 19 years are prone to malnutrition. Bekasi City and
Bekasi Regency are included in the 12 prevalence of thin and obese children above the prevalence
of West Java. Adolescents' eating behavior tends to follow their desires, such as eating more than 4
times a day and fast food is a risk factor for nutritional problems. Objective: This study aims to
examine the relationship between eating behaviour and nutritional status in adolescents in SMPN
4 Babelan. Methods: Using descriptive research methods, quantitative approaches, and
crosssectional research designs. Primary data collection was obtained directly from anthropometric
measurements and filling out the Dutch Eating Behaviour Questionnaire (DEBQ). Data processing
uses the SPSS Spearman Rank Test. Results:The results of the study showed a correlation coefficient
of 0119, which means that the level of correlation is very weak between eating behaviour variables
and nutritional status The correlation coefficient in the above results has a positive value of 0119
so that the relationship between the two variables is unidirectional, it can be interpreted that the
more eating behaviour is improved, the nutritional status will also increase Based on the data output
above the significance value or sig (2- tailed) of 0079 > means that there is no significant
relationship between eating behaviour variables and nutritional status in adolescents Conclusion:
Eating behaviour is improved, nutritional status increases, Thus eating behaviour is not related to
nutritional status in adolescents in SMPN 4 Babelan
