ABSTRACT

Introduction: Hypertension in adolescents is increasing every year. This disease is caused by
sedentary lifestyle factors and sleep quality. In this digital era, everything is done instantly, this
condition often occurs in adolescence due to a sedentary lifestyle and a lack of managing poor sleep
quality. The purpose of this study is to analyze the relationship between sedentary lifestyle and sleep
quality and blood pressure in adolescents of SMAN 6 Bekasi City.
Method: This study uses quantitative research with a cross sectional approach. A sample of 188
respondents using probability sampling, namely simple random sampling data was analyzed by
spearmen rank correlation test using SPSS.
Results: The average age of adolescents ranges from 15-18 years, the gender has the same number
between men and women. The majority of 96 respondents (51.1%) were at the level of moderate
sedentary lifestyle. In adolescent sleep quality, the majority of 161 respondents (85.6%) were poor.
The results of the spearman's rho test on sedentary lifestyle with blood pressure with a value of p =
0.005 mean that there is a significant relationship between sedentary lifestyle and blood pressure in
adolescents. Sleep quality with blood pressure with a value of p = 0.205 means that there is no
relationship between sleep quality and blood pressure in adolescents.
Conclusion: Research shows that there is a relationship between sedentary lifestyle and blood
pressure while sleep quality and blood pressure are not related in SMAN 6 Bekasi City.
