ABSTRACT

Introduction: Cervical cancer is the fourth most common type of cancer in women worldwide and
continues to have a disproportionate impact on women due to social and economic factors, poverty
levels, limited access to public health services, vaccination and screening services and treatment of
this disease. has not been implemented widely. Women who suffer from cervical cancer experience
various changes in their physical well-being, which will affect their psychological condition. Good
knowledge influences women's ability to know about cervical cancer and how to prevent it, social
support influences attitudes towards preventing cervical cancer in women of childbearing age.
Method: The method in this research is quantitative research with a cross-sectional research design
carried out in the working area of the Perumnas II Community Health Center, Bekasi city. The
sample for this research consisted of 109 respondents taken using purposive sampling. Data were
collected using a questionnaire and tested with Chi Square.
Results: this research obtained a relationship between knowledge and motivation showing that there
was a significant relationship with a value of 0.001 ≤ 0.05, the results of the analysis of the
relationship between knowledge and attitude showed that there was a significant relationship with
the value obtained with a p-value of 0.001 < α 0.05, the results of the analysis of the relationship
between social support and motivation show that there is a significant relationship with the value
obtained p-value 0.001 < α 0.05, the results of the analysis of the relationship between social support

and attitudes show that there is a significant relationship between the value obtained and the p-
value 0.001 < α 0.05.

Conclusion: This research shows a relationship between knowledge and social support on
motivation and attitudes towards preventing cervical cancer in suburban age women in Bekas
