HUBUNGAN USIA, LAMA PENYAKIT, DUKUNGAN KELUARGA DENGAN KETIDAKBERDAYAAN PADA PASIEN STROKE DI RS SWASTA X DEPOK

ABSTRACT

Introduction: stroke patients will be prone to experiencing helplessness. Helplessness is a feeling
of helplessness is a state that a person feels unable to tolerate things that are painful, and
uncomfortable experienced. So, family support is needed to prevent feelings of helplessness in stroke
patients. Objective: Thepurpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between age, length of disease, family support and helplessness in stroke patients
Method: This research is a quantitative research with a cross sectional approach, sampling is a
total sampling with a total of 139 respondents. Data collection using questionnaires.data analysis
using univariate and bivariate tests. Data processing using SPSS with the Chi-Square Test was
carried out in May - July 2024. Results: The results of the study showed that there was no relationship between age and
helplessness, a p-value of 1,000 < α (0.05), a long-term relationship between disease and
helplessness, a p-value of 0.045 > α (0.05), a relationship between family support and helplessness, a p-value of 0.021 > α (0.05). Conclusion: from the results of this study, there was no significant relationship between age and
helplessness, the length of illness and family support had an influence on helplessness in stroke
patients at Private Hospital X Depok.
