THE RELATIONSHIP OF FAMILY SUPPORT WITH PATIENT
MOTIVATION HYPERTENSION UNDER ROUTINE CONTROL
AT X CIKARANG PRIVATE HOSPITAL, BEKASI DISTRICT

ABSTRACT

Introduction: Hypertension is an increase in blood pressure where systolic pressure is more than
140mmHg and diastolic blood pressure is more than 90mmHg after being measured within a 5-
minute interval in a state of sufficient rest. Hypertension is often called The Silent Killer. Family
support and motivation are very important for people with hypertension. Where the family is the
closest person to the person with the disease. The purpose of this study was to determine whether
there is a relationship between family support and the motivation of hypertension patients in
carrying out routine checks at Rs Swasta X Cikarang, Bekasi Regency. Method: This study used a
quantitative type of research with a cross-sectional design. The population in this study were patients
with hypertension at Rs Swasta X Cikarang, Bekasi Regency. The sampling technique used was total
sampling with a total sample of 67 respondents. The data collection technique used a questionnaire
instrument. Results: Based on the results of the study, the Perason Chisquare Test with a significance
level of 5% obtained a p-value = 0.021
